Spring is not quite here, but this is the time of year when I'm ready for a change. I'm ready for more sun, spring colors, spring clothes and shoes and a spring vacation. While I still have 2 1/2 months (11 weeks to be exact) until my vacation, its never too early to start refreshing the spring wardrobe.
Spring shoes are starting to make their way online and in stores. Although its only the beginning February, darling spring flats and the first of many sandals, wedges and pumps are popping up. We still have snow on the ground in Illinois, but I'm dying to put my boots away and slip into a pair of flats.

As holidays are behind us, we now enter that awkward in between time known as the winter tundra. Spring is too far away to be hopeful, but no more holidays will distract us from the biting cold. My solution to beating the winter doldrums? Refresh your wardrobe of course!
Take all those new holiday outfits you got and find ways to make each new piece seem fresh and new as you roll out of bed to darkness and cold each morning. Prices are great now everywhere. As a shoe fanatic, of course my favorite way to refresh and put some spring in my step comes from a fresh pair of kicks. The 'Wellness' category of 'Toning Shoes' is really taking off. What started off with one brand has since morphed into the next big thing in the athletic shoe industry. Skechers Shape Ups and Reebok are leading the charge with marketing support including TV commercials and magazine ads, but there are several other brands popping up as well. The following is a story submitted by a customer about how she came to love Kmart, how she became apart of the Kmart family, and how she utilized Kmart to give back. Enjoy!
I was devastated to leave the US Army in 1988, to find that my medical and emotional problems from service were not temporary, and to realize just how much damage had been done to my legs. I had leg problems throughout my life and wore metal leg braces, and though I was told I would not walk without them again, I was determined to exercise my legs until I would be strong enough to do so.
Through some amazing events, the day finally came where I was able to walk without the braces and I cried with happiness. I knew the next step was to get some normal shoes, and so the same day I got my braces off I went to the nearest Kmart. This is how I came to really love Kmart.
I wanted shoes that would last, hence, Kmart was the logical choice. I limped into Kmart: I was overjoyed that I could finally buy normal shoes. The associate was so friendly and helped me select 2 pairs of shoes. She also helped me find a couple pair of diabetic socks and instructed me on how to avoid blisters. She told the manager what a special occasion this was for me. The manager gave me a BOGO 50% deal on the shoes, and 2 bags of Athletech socks free. Kmart helped me cement the reality of this day. I was just tickled pink as they helped me to my van.
I felt very fortunate and focused on giving back. I started buying up Kmart clearance items, like coloring books, food items, and household goods, even formula to give away. I just felt like passing along a little comfort to others. I ran a non-profit group called Weaver Beavers Outreach. We taught low-income families to shop smartly. We still encourage people to buy the promo deals at Kmart register coupons and show people how to manage their budgets better and how to live better.
At this point in my life, I have a new grandbaby to play with, and am really enjoying my retirement. I visit a Kmart every day and it makes me very happy. It is an environment I feel comfortable in. I have joined the MyKmart.com Community and have been devoted to it. I also wear an "I
