Sears Hometown Shop Talk – Bocce Ball

I played my first game of indoor bocce ball last week. Have you ever played? If not, it is a lot of fun and I recommend giving it a try.
We were having a meeting with about 30 people and went to dinner after a long day of discussions on our current business performance and holiday planning. Dinner was great and our conversations from the meeting carried over to the evening. Fortunately, after dessert the business discussions stopped when one of our store owners challenged the corporate staff to a game of bocce ball. Now, the fun begins.
We divided up into 4-on-4 teams and headed to the patio bocce courts so that we could be a little rowdy and blow off some steam. The corporate team quickly took the lead and showed their bocce prowess albeit short lived. The store owners were like lions on the prowl just waiting for us to make a mistake and then they attacked and never looked back. In the end, the store owners beat us 3 games to 0. There is a rumor that we let them win, but that’s just a rumor.
Needless to say, several new bocce ball fans were born that evening. We were interested in buying a few sets to take home so that we could practice in anticipation of our next meeting. Unfortunately, the establishment missed the opportunity to add on to our tab because they didn’t have any sets to offer. No bocce ball sets = no extra sales.
