How to find time to care for your car

So much to do, so little time.  Let's see if anyone can relate- this morning my 19 month daughter woke up at 5:30am (right after I got out of the shower) and she was crying.  I ran in there to calm her down, changed her diaper and brought her in the bathroom with me while I finished getting ready for work.  Went downstairs, babysitter arrived and gave her a kiss goodbye. She of course starting crying very hard and running after me screaming "MAMA".  I had to do the hardest thing in the world- and just give her a kiss, say goodbye and proceed to leave.  Then off to my 33 mile drive to work with a broken heart and feeling like a horrible mommy for leaving her, stop for donuts for work event, and here I am blogging.  Can anyone relate?  I am a mom who works full time and is trying very hard to figure out how to give 110% to both jobs.  So how do I find the time to care for my car?  It's hard enough to find time to maintain my home let alone my car. I am very lucky that we have a Sears Auto Center on campus at work which is super convenient and I have built a trusting relationship with the mechanics at this location.  Another option is drop my car off, get my shopping done at the mall, then pick my car up when I am done.

Car care tip:  Ways to improve fuel economy: Drive sensibly, observe the speed limit, use cruise control whenever possible, and avoid excessive idling.  Check & replace air filters- replacing air filters every 12,000 miles can improve fuel economy and help protect your engine. Keep your engine tuned- changing spark plugs, fixing faulty sensors, and maintaining your engine can improve your gas mileage. Keep tires properly inflated- under-inflated tires can lower gas mileage. Follow your vehicle manufacturer's's recommendation.  Use proper motor oil- the proper grade of motor oil, along with changing the oil filter, can improve fuel economy.

Do you have an All Wheel Drive or 4 Wheel Drive vehicle? When purchasing tires, did you know that a set of 4 new matching tires are recommended on vehicles with All Wheel Drive or 4 Wheel Drivevehicles. At the very least, there cannot be more than 4/32nds difference between any of the tires, a difference in tire size may cause damage to the drive line components. A: No, actually not. We’re hoping to gather our customers’ thoughts about the products we sell in general. The good, the bad, the ugly. Your review will help other customers know if the product might be right for them.

Q: How many reviews do I have to write?

A: Its really up to the community. We’re giving away free shipping for a year to the 25 community members who write the most reviews each week (Mondays start the week tally). Each week, the tally is set back to zero so you stay on an even playing field, even if you are just joining!

Q: What should I review?

Whither ellipticals?

I've been fascinated by elliptical machines lately. They arrived on the scene with great fanfare some years ago offering wonderful benefits: low impact cardio exercise, with a pleasant cross-country skiing type motion that can also involve the upper body in some versions. They are generally available at very similar prices to more traditional jogging treadmills.

Yet despite these benefits, industry data indicates that sales of ellipticals have fallen more than sales of treadmills in these leaner economic times. Why would that be? Could it be that people feel more inclined to buy a "simpler" machine like a treadmill, even if it costs the same as an elliptical? Or are the potential elliptical buyers waiting for the next innovative machine that will allow an even more interesting exercise motion?
